Board of Directors
Sourav Mukherjee
Founder and CEO of Netscribes
Sourav was formerly the Finance Editor of The Economic Times, the world’s third largest financial daily and a part of India’s largest media house, The Times Group. During his 10-year stint, Sourav drove financial and industry sector news and research coverage, and strategic initiatives like building in-house databases and structuring products. He was also responsible for recruiting and training personnel and managing large teams of writers, analysts and researchers. Prior to joining The Economic Times, Sourav was involved in business reporting with The ABP Group of Publications, eastern India’s largest publishing firm, and teaching English at graduate and post-graduate levels.
He holds a post graduate degree in English Literature with specialization in Medieval European classics and is a National Educational Trust qualified lecturer.
Ramanan Raghavendra
Co-founder and Managing Partner of Kubera Partners
Ramanan is the Co-founder and Managing Partner of Kubera Partners, a private equity firm that invests in cross border businesses. Prior to founding Kubera, Ramanan led the cross border investing effort at TH Lee Putnam Ventures as a senior partner (and continues to oversee the THLPV portfolio). He was formerly a senior partner at Insight Venture Partners, where he invested in business process outsourcing and enterprise software companies, including cross border investing via ConnectCapital, an Insight affiliate. Prior to joining Insight, Ramanan was a senior member of the investment team at General Atlantic, where he initiated the Internet-related investment effort and also led sector efforts in technology services and enterprise software. Ramanan began his professional career at McKinsey & Company in New York and London.
He is the Chairman of the advisory board of Magic Bus (www.magicbusindia.org), a Mumbai-based charitable organization that uses innovative techniques to assist some of the most “at-risk” children in Mumbai. He is a member of the advisory board of the Center for the Advanced Study of India at the University of Pennsylvania, the only research institution in the United States dedicated to the study of contemporary India. Ramanan also co-founded Impact Partners, the first venture philanthropy entity in India.
He holds a B.S. in finance from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School and a B.S.E. in Computer Science from the University of Pennsylvania’s Moore School of Engineering.
Sameer Kanwar
Partner, Basil Partners
Sameer Kanwar has over 16 years experience in the IT Industry with focus on Sales, Business Development and Marketing for IT Products & Services. He has led the team at Powerdesk Technologies, as a Global Director, Sales & Marketing Responsible for conceptualising and launching a patented IT Product to reduce Operational Expenses of Enterprises across Power, Space and IT Security. Earlier he was at Ness Technologies, responsible for Strategy & Business Development for UK, Global Pre-sales & Offshore Evangelist. Prior to that he was Head, Apar Consulting Solutions Division – Asia-Pac (1998 – 2002) based in Singapore. He had also served at Parametric Technologies, as Regional Manager responsible for Sales & Business Development and with Wipro Infotech, as a Capital Market Specialist for promoting end-to-end solutions using Reuters & TIBCO products. He has a Masters in Management Studies, Bombay University and Bachelor in Engineering (Computers), Bombay University.
Tarun Pande
Principal, Kubera Partners
Tarun is a Principal at Kubera Partners. Prior to joining Kubera, Tarun was an Associate with AT Kearney at their Chicago office. Prior to joining AT Kearney, Tarun served as the Chief Financial Officer of ConnectCapital Holdings, a cross-border fund affiliated with Insight Venture Partners. At ConnectCapital, he assisted with the fund´s deal negotiation and structuring in regards to its investment activities, as well as the liquidity events involving ConnectCapital´s portfolio companies. Tarun began his professional career at Arthur Andersen & Co.
Tarun received an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and a Bachelor of Commerce from University of Mumbai. He is also a Chartered Accountant.

Navin Wadhwani
Head of Finance & Administration
Navin heads the Finance & Administration functions at Netscribes. He is responsible for managing funds, corporate finance activities and vendor / employee emoluments negotiation. Prior to joining Netscribes, Navin served as a Manager – Finance at ACNielsen ORG – Marg Research. While at ACNielsen, he was responsible for managing funds, financial reporting of a Strategic Business Unit and ensuring compliance with Company & Income Tax Laws. Navin received a Bachelor of Commerce from University of Mumbai and is a certified Chartered Accountant.
Gagan Kaul
Head of Operations - Mumbai
Gagan has nearly five years of experience across a multitude of projects in market research, corporate strategy &
intelligence and information services. He headed our Competitive Intelligence Group earlier, where he supervised projects
related to business intelligence, media coverage & analytics, blog monitoring, sector research for PE/VC clients and
information management projects.
Gagan has a keen interest in information technology and Web technologies, and passionately studies the developments in this
space. He has also been instrumental in setting up project blogs within the organization. Before joining Netscribes, Gagan was
working in an IT-startup that he had co-founded during his campus days.
Gagan attended IIT Bombay pursuing a B. Tech. in Chemical Engineering. He is also the recipient of the prestigious National
Talent Search award from the Government of India.
Shubham Chatterjee
Head of Operations - Pune
Shubham Chatterjee is a MBA from IIT Madras and also holds a Mechanical Engineering degree from Bangalore University. He
has over 10 years of experience in areas such as Industrial Engineering, Process optimization for the manufacturing industry,
Sales & Marketing of Commercial Vehicles and Management Consulting. Prior to joining Netscribes, he worked with Avalon
Consulting and has advised national and international clients from various sectors like Transport & Logistics, Agrochemicals,
Industrial products and Real Estate on Strategic issues. He has also worked with other reputed organizations like Bharat Forge
Ltd, Whirlpool, and Bajaj Tempo.
His areas of expertise/fields of interest include Formulation of market entry strategies, Business research (primary &
secondary), Process optimization etc.
As the Pune Center Head, Shubham oversees its day to day operations, including recruitment and business development. He is
also responsible for execution and deliveries of customized business research projects with a focus on the quality and client
relationship.
Somnath Banerjee
Head of Operations - Kolkata
Somnath Banerjee heads Netscribes’ operations team at the Kolkata centre. He is responsible for all business across the
center, encouraging greater teamwork and efficiency and knowledge-sharing across the firm. He is also responsible for Business
Development, revenue growth and centre profitability.
After graduating in Commerce from Calcutta University, he completed his Post Graduation in Commerce and MBA (Finance) from
Calcutta University. He has 4 years of experience as an Independent Equity Research Analyst with Independent International
Investment Research PLC. In addition, he has more than four years of experience in corporate accounting and insurance
underwriting.
Saurav Chakraborty
Head of Business Development
Saurav Chakraborty has 8 years of experience in the financial services industry. Saurav joined Netscribes as an analyst in 2004 and gradually became a Research Manager, overseeing some of the largest and most critical projects in the Investment Research group. Saurav has managed projects related to the entire gamut of equity research services, starting from model maintenance and update, to creation of excel-based valuation models, company profiling and preparation of equity research reports, pitch books, etc. His exposure has been across all industries. In 2008, he moved into Business Development where he is responsible for generating business, particularly focusing on the overseas market. Saurav primarily focuses on the North American & MENA region.
Saurav has an MBA in Finance from the Indian Institute of Social Welfare and Business Management and has done his graduation in Commerce from St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata. He is also a Mathematics Olympiad and enjoys mathematical puzzles. Prior to joining Netscribes, Saurav has worked for three years in a Chartered Accountancy firm in the field of auditing, taxation, as well as preparation and finalization of accounts for Indian companies.
Srinivas Durai
Head of HR & QMS
As the head of QMS, Srinivas is responsible for defining & streamlining processes, identifying need for different modules and getting them online and integrating the same, maintenance of quality management certification, generation of monthly MIS, and monitoring of organization-wide metrics.
